The trade paper IWANNA has livestock/farm classified ads sections you'll find hay in the "from the farm" section. It can be subscribed to online or hard copy in grocery & convenience stores
http://iwanna.com/
Also try the NC AG Review classified section online at http://www.agr.state.nc.us/paffairs/...ReviewFAQs.htm

I hope your friend finds some, drought has really put a hurt on hay in this part of the state

The Iwanna website has tri-cities(Tennessee) and a WNC editions, ads are free. Here in E TN we also have the Trading Post which also has a website where you can read and place ads. I don't know what town but most every local radio station has a swap shop hour long program and web sites to post and read ads. WRGS swap shop is my local radio station.

Mr. Alvin Hines and another man whose name I do not remember.....has hay and straw. It is $4.00 per bale and I think it is fescue and other grasses. We do NOT use it for animals. I buy it from him rotten and busted for gardens. So you will need to ask about quality for animals. He sells it to horse people near Tryon, NC and in upper SC. I did not ask about delivery. His name Mr. Hines / cell phone 864--237--0481 He did say I could put his cell phone on here but he asked that ONLY those who need hay to call. Thank you.

Just thought of this idea too - we have neighbor who needed hay/grass for her horses. She has 4. She noticed that an elderly neighbor had not cut his fields and so she worked out a deal where her horses stay in his pasture days to eat and she takes them back to her place at night. Just an idea if you have an neighbors with grass

I have 2+ acres of hay field that needs to be cut. You cut the hay and keep it. This can be a repeat thing. Should be able to get 3 cuts a year. Please call Carl at 828-524-4054 for more information.

hay

West Central Indiana
Hay prices at the auction Fri--------------$7.50 a square bale
Hay prices at the auction week ago in another town in Central Indiana--$11.50 a square bale.

Here locally--if you got hay----KEEP IT. They are baling straw for winter feed feed and all are running scared.

Friend got an order from Georgia for 6000 bales. This friend has an 80 acre hay field (one of many) Last year 1300 square bales---this year 330 bales.
