Question skunk or skunks in woodpile

We have skunk of skunks in our big woodpile. My dh has set a live trap with some salmon in it. They are not falling for that!! Does anyone know a way to get them out without getting sprayed. So far the dogs have got too close to the woodpile and smell skunky. Ick!!!
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Mary

Peanut butter has not failed me yet. Make sure the live trap is small enough that the skunk cannot raise its tail

And what'r ya gonna do with it once you trap it?!?!??!!

Don't buy into that crap about throwing a blanket over the trap and totin' it off - I know someone who tried that one....

skunks

We haven't seen the skunk yet. We can just smell it. The woodpile is big enough that an animal could hide in there and not be seen.
If we do get it in a live trap, of course my dh will shoot it. Unless bill in oh wants it, we can deliver it to his back yard. Just kidding, of course.
Thanks for the tips so far. I will pass this on to dh. Mary
