OK thanks everyone. I thoght it was a wringer wash bucket but the guy in the apron threw me off. As Cabin Fever stated it must be his wifes apron.

It is a washbucket alright. I believe the wringer is also referred to as a mangle. Of course, if that guy is wearing his wife's apron, something already got mangled...

I used to help my gramma wash her clothes that way. Use an old tub Maytag, then you used the ringer on the washer to get rid of the soapy water. You had your rinse in the washtub and then used the wringer on it to wring out the rinse water. Man, it was hard work to wash clothes in those days, but she would not give that up until the old Maytag finally gave up. I can remember why, too. Her clothes were cleaner and whiter than anything out of an automatic. Gramma used to run the clothes out of the Maytag wringer through a bluing rinse tub first, then into the rinse water with the wringer tub. That was the ticket to bright clothes.

Nice summer days, we'd do it all in the backyard. In winter, we did it down the basement, using the floor drain. Makes me sound old, I know. Heheheh.

Oh yeah, I'm not so sure that's a guy in the pic...but thanks for rekindling the memory of gramma.

I COULD be used for a washer/wringer, but I do believe it's for making PlatyPutty.

Used for chinking logs in the Great North with the Giant Platys of the
M Y S T E R I O U S Unknown...

Washing machine?

We don't NEED no steenkin' washin' machine...

It could be the guy's apron. Men do wear them, and it's not all frilly or anything. Actually, that apron looks a lot like one my grandfather used to wear when he was a butcher.
