Summertime and Ice Cream

I enjoyed reading everyone's favorite jams and jelly thread. I like to sit on the porch of an evening with a bowl of ice cream watching the hummingbirds fight over the feeders and listen to the whippoorwills. What's your favorite kind of ice cream or ice cream flavor? Everybody's got one! Take Care.

Plain ol' vanilla. You can pour any flavor of topping over it for variety. You can make root beer floats with it. You can make milk shakes, malts, and add any flavoring you want to it. Yep, no doubt about it, plain ol' vanilla is my favorite.

I have the recipe my parents used when I was a kid. Ummm it's good stuff!

This is making me hungary. It's going to be a hot one today. I think a bowl of butter pecan will fit the bill this evening, or maybe vanilla with sliced cantaloupe. Take Care.

We only buy Blue Bell ice cream. Right now my favorite is their Homemade Vanilla. I've been putting my homegrown fresh strawberries on it and YUUUUUMMMMMMM there's nothing better!

OK now all this talk of ice cream and I had to make some Saturday. We made our favorite, just plain old vanilla.

Nothing beats home made just plain old vanilla. I will always remember being at my grandparents during the summers making home made ice cream.

Home made peach or strawberry, from ripe, fresh fruit. Vanilla ain't bad, especially if you have a hot cobbler, like blackberry to put it on.
