tiny green night bugs

For the past four days we have been overrun by those tiny green bugs that fly around the light at night. They are so tiny they can come through the screen. I've seen them all my life but never so many as this. They are dead by morning and there are thousands of them when I sweep up. I guess the only solution is to close the windows after dark. Does anybody know what they are? I did a google search and found where someone in Tennessee had an invasion too. Someone told him they are leaf hoppers. They seem to be more fliers than hoppers.

Hate those things. When I was about 12 and we lived in Alabama I woke up with one in my ear. It was horrible. We have tiny black beetles that come thru the screen here lately. They don't die by morning unless a loose button finds them. I do have some brooders in the livingroom and the light attracts them. Then the chicks feast all night.

we always called them, no-see-ums, cause you can't see um. spray the screens with oil, it will trap them. then scrape em off and give it to the chickens. they love this stuff. use veggie oil, no insecticide oil, unless you wanna kill your chickens.
