The perfect storm?

I'm guessing that y'all in the SE part of the country are actually praying for a Hurricane (ok, at least a tropical storm).

rain, beautiful rain all day! Nice slow steady drizzle and it's still coming down thanks to the second tropical storm of the season. We are soooooo happy - need every last drop we can get!!!

I got about nine drops on my windshield today. We need a lot more than that!

mrs oz here

It's been a steady shower all day long. We needed it sooooooo bad, so I am THRILLED!! Got a little stir crazy being in the house all day, but TOTALLY worth it to get this much needed rain.

We got the very western edge of the storm. It didn't amount to much but did lightly rain for about an hour. It was enough to maybe keep the grass alive! I was sure glad to see it even if it was not enough.

They say it's raining now down in Raleigh. We have been so dry here. Fields I cut 4 weeks ago look like I cut them yesterday, all brown. Just finished getting up about 300 bales today. They are talking like we're gonna get several inches tonight. Corn's a month old and 2 inches tall. Beans won't hardly sprout. At this rate, we're in for a bad summer. Hey, it means higher hay prices this winter though! And with 1,500 + already in the barn that means $$ No corn though or beans Seriously we could use about three hurricanes up here in southern VA. Thunderstorms are a hit and miss thing here, hurricanes are a bit more reliable.

Blessed rain all day yesterday and a good bit through the night. We are down to a lot of wind [but not badly] and cool today, with just a minor shower every once in a while. Well - it was nice while it lasted - but by far not enough. We could easily use a week or more of this.

Weather report says hot and humid for all of next week - I am hoping the tail end will keep it cooler and a bit windy. Lmnde

Woke up to a steady rain this morning that's continuing right now. Heavier rains are forecast for tonight with thunderstorms tomorrow.
