I feel like a dog
We have been gone so much, we have not met our new neighbors on one side. We see them from time to time and have spoken at a distance
Today, I was working outside and he was weedeating the fence. We waved, and he called over and said, "Is it OK if I spray Roundup on our (meaning his and our) fence. My husband actually didn't have a clue what he was talking about and said, 'Why sure."
Now I am a woose and I almost let it go - but I did tell him I had some flowers, lantana, planted there. 'Well, I'll just spray around them.'
Finally, I drew up the courage to say I would rather he wouldn't. I told him I promised I would keep the fence row the cleanest in town if he wouldn't spray it.
He said, 'Fine, Fine, I'll just spray the other fences and keep weedeating this one."
I intend to transplant wild berry vines close to that fence this fall, and in the 10 years we have lived here, it hasn't been necessary to use anything like that. This has just been a wet year and things have gotten ahead of us.
Just another indication I need to be out in the boonies with no neighbors. He was fairly nice, just looked at me like he thought I was something from Mars.
