Looking for clothespins

I am looking for GOOD quality clothespins. We had a local company in Vermont that made wonderful clothespins that would hold together and hold the clothes. Anyone know where I can order some real clothespins. These things that we have now I'm ready to throw out.

Laurie

Hi,
I found some at Dollar Tree last year that really surprised me....I hadn't seen any of that quality in years. Really stout springs that don't drop the laundry or pop apart all the time. They've been out on the line for almost an entire year and aren't showing much wear....the wood's not even darkened as is usual in our humid climate.

Lehman's has the old fashioned hardwood peg (non-spring). 3 1/2" long, 30 to a bag $4.95. I love them. I think they also carry the hardwood spring pins.

I found 2 bags of older, heavy duty, clothespins at an estate sale - and I treat them like gold!!!!

I am going to check out Dollar Tree, though. That suprises me.

I guess I will try Lehmans and the Dollar General in the city. I just assumed that no good ones would be available in the cheap stores.

I tried the Vermont Country Store online and they don't have any.

Glad to see that there is the possibility of some help for these awful ones I am using.

Thanks, Laurie

I went through my bag of pins and DID throw out all but the old-fashioned kind that actually HOLD the clothes. I, too, treat them like gold ....

Yes, Txsteader is right about the Dollar Tree. I found a bag of the old style wooden clothespins there (I think there were 25 or 30 in the bag). They are really good clothespins to my surprise. Only a buck-they are sure worth trying out. Take care.

Dollar Tree is a store where everything in the store is a dollar, it maybe a Southern thang, I did find some clothespins there this weekend, they are the ones without the spring, I also found some at Walmart last week with the spring, they are pretty heavy they are not like they used to be, but heavier than some I have seen.
I made a clothespin bag the other week, a little boy came in the shop where I work, he ask what it was, I told him, then he ask what is a clothes line and why do you hang out clothes. I think we are going to have to gave history on these kinds of things.

Here's a link to the Dollar Tree website. There's a store locator on the upper right corner of the page.

Don't suppose one of ya'll that have access to a dollar tree would be willing to pick up some bags of clothespins and ship them to those of us that don't have one handy? I'd be happy to pay cost + shipping + a bit for your trouble. I've been dealing with those horrible clothespins too. Came home to find my sheets on the ground half way to the road.

I bought some wooden clothespins at Target, but I haven't used them yet so I don't know if they're good or not.

Dollar Tree, Dollar Store, Dollar General & their knockoffs are springing up all over AZ. I think they're nationwide. They have a lot of junk, but some things are good. Especially when they buy overstock, etc. items.
Not always a dollar though. All juice popcicles are more expensive there ($3.00) than at Wally's world.

I remember the spring plastic ones in different colors. They were great. I haven't seen those in years. I never leave my clothes pins on the line. I always bring them in after use. They'll mildew, then discolor your clothing when pinned and don't last as long.
