Anyone ever try these fence tighteners?

At our farm supply store they have a display board for these but no inventory. I think it's a great simple idea, just wondering if anyone has tried them.

Never knew about them, but lt looks like it's easier than splicing, putting the wire ends through one of those little tubes, pulling the wire tight & then squeezing the tube together. Never knew I was so clumsey! or weak.

I'd give 'em a try.

The twisting produces a weak spot. Much better off to stick with the conventional method.

These look like they would work Good---I Personally don't see how they could weaken the wire being the wire will only be wrapped around it and not twisted. I am like Tinknal---If you were to "Twist" the wire Like I do with a steel rod to tighten it---It will make the wire weak. Test them out and let us know!! Randy

Looks Great~! Sure is better then just twisting the wire as that does weaken the wire but this kind of twisting does not bend the wire very much at all, well into small twists as that can not only weakens the wire but can also break it But this on the other hand, looks like it does not hardly make any twist that would weaken the wire at all., I LIKE IT`!!!

I have a very similar tool, also invented by a rancher, maybe the same one.LOL
I didn't have much luck with it. If you had all new wire, would probably work. Old rusty wire, it just breaks the wire.

................That is a pretty cool invention , BUT , even with that Gizmo you still have the same Problem , i.e. , when a tight wire gets loose or breaks , the Tposts will , Usually be pulled back towards the tie point which is usually an Hbrace or a corner . Now , all tposts will be slanted , and the ONLY way you can get them strightened back UP , is too cut the wire tie , restretch the wire and then REtie all tposts . This is really the only correct way too fix a broken wire . , fordy...

I tighten my fence with a long handled screwdriver.

Loop the wire over the shaft and give it a twist. It creates a little loop in the wire and removes all the slack.

It creates a weak spot for sure, but with high tensile electric the animals shouldn't be pushing on it anyways.
