.............If it is atleast 2 inch outside diameter , it is an ideal length for a gate post , i.e. , 3 feet in cement and 6.5 feet out . Put it aside and then use it for a need in the future . , fordy...

don't think I'll have a use for a fence post, hope not anyway.
i don't mind cutting it in pieces if I could just come up with something to use it. I can't think of anything to do with it.. I've tried to think creativly like, cutting it in 1 ft steel pieces or an idea for cutting it vertical. I'm just blank.

Shove into the back of your barn.

In about 5 yrs, you will be in desperate need for it, and it will save you.

That is the excuse I give the wife for just about everything around here.

If you ever need to break free rusty metal parts and the wrench won't due, a long piece of steel pipe slipped over the handle will add lot of leverage.

Put an endcap on one end and a hose fitting on the other. Drill holes, connect a trash pump and you have one bad-ass sprinkler.

Make a gift to Habitat for Humanity.

As for me? I'd put it in a corner and save it for that special project I haven't thought of yet.

How 'bout a washing station. Cut it into thirds, put on corner fittings or weld to make a I_I put the legs in concrete and then use it for things like cleaning saddles, saddle blankets, rugs and such.

If you have a "soft driveway" and a water line crossing it, it would be good for running the PVC waterline through in order to protect the plastic water line from breaking if a heavy vehicle like a Propane Truck or Cement Truck were to drive over the water line.

just one thought.

Otherwise, you might do as travlnusa suggested. You don't have to use it right now. The time will come.

Cut a 12 inch piece from the length, cut the 12 inch piece in half down the length so you end up with 2 12 inch pieces of half pipe. Weld end caps onto each end. Weld bolts on the sides for legs. Now you have a small trough to feed the cats, chickens or any other small critters you may have running around. It's heavy enough not to get moved around by the animals and will last a lifetime.
