what is your favorite homemade jam or jelly?
Do you have a favorite flavor you look forward to every year?
I made up a batch of strawberry kiwi jam earlier and because it is so chilly here today I have had the windows shut so up stairs in the bedrooms will smell like strawberries when we head up stairs tonight. I love that about jam making! !

I agree, the aroma is terrific! Peach preserves or lekvar (plum butter) are my favorites. But roostercogburn's favorite is definitely strawberry jam.

This week---rhubarb.
In a couple more weeks, it'll be strawberry.
Then raspberry, blackberry and blueberry!
Peach is one of my favorites but I most look forward to APPLE BUTTER!

Well... hard to say. I went jam crazy last summer and made ALL sorts of jams. I really liked cherry jam, was happy with how my 22 pts of plum jam turned out (someone gave me a box of plums! It's great for sauces too), but so far my personal favorites are pepper jam and peach habenaro. That probably gives you a clue, eh? I've tried some sort of lime/habenaro once that was lovely too. These jams are good on toast, but great for cooking with. All I did for the peach habenaro was to make a batch of peach jam and add a finely chopped up habenaro to it. Wonderful, its addictive.

grannycarol- that sounds great! I may have to "steal" your idea of the haberano in the peach jam. That sounds like it would make a great sauce for chicken.

Oddly enough, Lavender jelly on a fresh buttered crusty french bread is awesome!
Wild muscadine jelly or kudzu blossom jam is good also

It's kinda hard to pick between mulberry, plum, and mayhaw. Those would be my three favorites, but I like just about every kind of jelly or jam there is.

mrs oz here
My all time favorite, since childhood, is peach preserves. Although I did make some strawberry-peach jam that's a close second. I'm not sure about Oz.......maybe plum.......or raspberry.

Wild muscadine and wild plum (when its not too sweet). I love cherry jam, but we can't grow cherries here, so I don't get that.

Plum Butter or Raspberry butter. I was in Illinois last month and picked up some in Amish area. I sure wish I had gotten more of it.

Favorite jelly/jam
I make pear preserves every fall and they are wonderful. Some I cook with cinnamon sticks, some plain , and some with orange peel. I have also made crabapple jelly and that is wonderful. I use to make red plum preserves but cannot find them any longer. Wish I could find some wild plums that had juicy plums on them.
