Quick quick, please:1.3 quarts = how many US quarts?

I need to compare capacities but I can't find a succinct formula to convert it...Help!

No WAIT! I mean liters!! How many liters is 1.3 quarts???

(You can see I am befuddled -- I can't even write the question correctly!! )

1 quart is .946 liters

1.3 quarts = 1.23 liters

When my husband was young, English schools taught the conversions this way: "A liter of water is a pint and three quarters." "Two and a quarter pounds of jam weigh about a kilogram." "A meter measures three foot three - it's longer than a yard, you see."

BTW - England did not end up going metric despite what they taught school children in the '70's. Much like here in that respect.

If you are cooking and using german receipes - 1 liter is 1.057 quarts - so basically a quart and half a swallow :0).

Use Google's conversion feature. Just type 1.3 quarts in liters (or, 1.3 quarts = ? liters) in the Google search bar.
