Sisterpine, this is the reason we asked about getting a smaller ATV to compliment a tractor. From what I've been able to find out from research, is that regardless how large the ATV, it just can't do the work that a tractor can.
But I really think it depends on your application and intended use. I can see where an ATV could make many chores easier, and replace the tractor for a lot of them, but not things like (not feasibly) brush hogging, bladework, backhoe, post hole digging, trenching, loader work, etc.
I don't think a tractor has enough "umpf" to use a blade effectively. Plus, ATV parts like that are as expensive as their full sized tractor counterparts!
