Online shopping at Goodwill

While searching for information regarding a parishioner, I came across

http://www.shopgoodwill.com/

There is a multitude of of different items and is like E-bay where one bids on the item. Even old 8 track tapes.

I've looked at their site. Prices seemed rather high to me for a lot of things. Shipping was definitely higher than I expected and they generally "surcharge" a percentage on top of the shipping. Item descriptions seemed to be mostly inadequate.

just my first impression,
Bruce

I think the site is a bit of a rip off.

I have found items to be poorly described, and the shipping is very high.

My wife bought some Fiesta plates from Goodwill, and the transaction was fair. Shipping was expensive, and the plates were scratched up, which was not mentioned in the ad. They could have been packed much better.

I really dont see the value, even though there could be a deal sometimes.

Personally, I like ebay much better. Sellers tend to know the items they are selling much better. Ebay also has a great feedback system, allowing you to pick and choose sellers and their items.

Goodwill should be applauded for their efforts in maximizing their donation profits. I still don't like supporting an organization that seems to run more TV commercials than all the car dealers combined. I am not sure I like the new Goodwill, with its fancy buildings and first rate ad campaign. Makes me wonder where all those dollars are going, and what the CEO will make this year.
