converting extra room in trailer into a sunroom

I decided to go with a bigger trailer, and would like to make the back room a sunroom. I will have to put a new floor in, possibly of 2x4s, cuz tghe old one is worn out. What do you all think? Would it be worth the effort?

If you've got the ambition I say go for it! Sunrooms are wonderful and will be a great place to start out seedlings if you garden. I plan on having a sunroom when we build our house (someday)

Hi,
Sunrooms can be very nice, and they can provide some free heat to the rest of the trailer on sunny winter days, and allow growing some plants.

You want to make sure your sunroom gets sun
That is, the glazing in the sunroom should face south if it is going to collect sun well.

Lots of info on sunrooms here:

Are the 2x4's going to be support for the new floor, or "the floor". I wouldn't go with 2x4s for support, unless you were laying em directly on the old floor, then a subfloor on top. Otherwise you might find it a little bouncy.

well, the old floor is bouncy, so I will eventually take it up and replace it. What do you think I should replace it with?

Great idea. I want one badly. Already have the windows (garage sale) for a sunroom/greenouse addition.

RE: your floor: I'd listen to Texican, and fix the bouncy floor first. Why do double work. Do you want this for a sunroom/greenhouse? IF so, I'd think hard about how much water/dirt would be spilt on a wood floor.
I love wood floors, but am pretty messy so could never have one if I used it for a greenhouse at all. Actually, I'm thinking of using polyeurathaned brick pavers for flooring.

If you want wood, I understand that Home Depot has tongue & groove wood that is finished on one side only. Less expensive, but you'd have to put the finish on yourself. Just an idea.

I'm not going to use it as a greenhouse, just a place to sit and read, enjoy the natural light. What kind of flooring should I use, and that would take the lease effort? I live in a trailer, so I'm guessing either carpet pr vinyl.
