Heads up - Raw milk on t.v.

I was just over at my parents when I saw a thing that tonight on ABC news they will do a news clip on raw milk. Gonna try and get myself back over there to watch that one.

I saw it and it really put down the idea that people can be educated, learn the risks and still choose to drink raw milk. They kept show little kids drinking it is while they were talking - like the kids were being abused.

Very paternalistic. Government must protect us from those ugly germs.

I think there will always be people who want to do that. Just like with the vacine argument. Some think they are great and don't want to see that some folks just can't tolerate them.

We got home from the Dr. this AM and got the vaccine lecture again. Lots of literature and even a DVD about how we are abusing our children, put in such a pleasant way that it seems we are just too ignorant to understand why we cant see things their way.

I told DW that we are not scheduling an appt for any kid that isn't sick (and that natural remedies didn't help, which ain't much) as we don't need to be badgered or reported to the state for something we believe to be harmful as often as it is helpful. Our DD had really high fevers and seizures from vaccines, yet they push to keep it up. Seems the medicine is worse than the sickness sometimes.

We studied alot before using raw milk and we use it, hard to get used to the strong flavor at first, but we are getting there and plan on using raw milk from our friend's naturally raised cows pretty much exclusively this year. I work with these cows and do relief milkings, so I know they are clean and well taken care of, practically members of the family.

Just saw it. 13 bucks a gallon is a little steep for me!

You got that right. 3 is more like it in the range that the average person can afford milk for. I buy 2 to 3 gallons at a time, and buy that at places like WM or Sam's.
