AC 1959 D12 tractor....

Hello Folks ~

We have decided that we need to sell our AC 1959 D-12 tractor. The engine seized a few years back due to water and we haven't (and decided that we probably won't) get around to fixing it anytime soon. Do you folks have any idea of a price that we could put on it? We purchased it for $3,500 when it was running about 5 years ago. It is a great tractor and it great shape. It has all the attachments (bucket, mowing deck, harrow, two-prong plow) – we really utilized the brush hog. I hate to see it go, but we have some foundation maintenance work that has to take place and selling the tractor would be helpful.

Many Thanks ~

Seperate 'all the attachments' (other than maybe the loader?) from the tractor itself, & price each seperately. People rarely look for 'everything' and pay top dollar. You will be able to sell each individual pice for more money than as a group.

The tractor is obviously a fixer-upper, and will only be bought by someone who want to restore an old tractor. You don't exactly have the hottest model/brand there, so it isn't worth a whole lot over scrap iron price, I'm afraid. Typically $800 or less.

A place to start is www.ytmag.com - a discussion forum of tractor collectors that work on old iron. They have a free calssified area that you can even list your stuff on. Flat out ads in the regular discussion areas is frowned upon, don't try to sell there, but you can ask questions in the Allis area, or Implement area.

Good luck.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I'll take a look at the website.

You can post it 'for sale' free at allischalmers.com

Click the link and then click on 'discussion pages'. These guys are crazy for anything orange. You may be able to sell it this week.
