1-Well I took a discarded copy machine and built a Dixie Lee/field pea sheller.
2-Also took a discarded remote controlled boat and built a working remote controlled vacuum cleaner. Youngins fussed over who was going to get to vacuum--LOL.
3-Took a electronic car door lock actuator and built a automatic drop feeder for my chickens.
4-Took a electric motor off a kiddie car and built a drive motor for a Solar Panel tracker I built
I could Go on and on----but then I would sound like I was Bragging, but I am not---I just Get a Great "Buzz" building things out of scrape/junk. Randy

I took a discarded grocery store buggy and made a humane animal trap for larger animals.
I recycled a 4 inch pvc "sewer" pipe into 6 bluebird boxes (3 have new nests already this Spring)
Made a log splitter using a recycled pump and a frame from a large air compressor
Used the tank from the large air compressor to make a barrel stove
Used broken concrete to make a wing dam to redirect the creek that was eroding the bank
made a "spinning jenny" for high tensile wire feeding using an office chair base

I will get a few pics within the next week. Here is a use pic for recycling a golf ball as compared to "chasing it" The hide of the deer where the rope is tied is around a golf ball. Super quick means of dressing a deer. Notice how clean the flesh remains.

We recently took apart an old wooden baby crib.
1 short end made a very pretty "baby gate" that keeps the house rabbit
out of my kitchen.
We reinforced the 2 long ends with a wooden frame and they are now
gates in the lamb creep and the rabbitry.
We just picked up an old "brass" bed headboard and footboard someone was tossing. We are going to try to fashion some type of gates from those, also.
We find you can never have too many gates on the homestead.
I wove wicker through a plain wire dog kennel and put a table top over it.
It makes a great combo coffee table/hidden dog bed. No more tripping over sleeping dogs...

i've been using cribs and stuff for fences for a long time. but they are made of indoor wood, and don't fair well outside. they tend to rot quickly. but the brass bed sounds really cool. i never thought to use metal. thanx

Can one of you that are set-up to post pic's private message me your e-mail and I will take some pics tomorrow when I get home and send them to you---and you post them. I can get pics of ever thing I mentioned except for the vacuum cleaner---It wore out some years back and I sold the remote things from it---never built another. Thanks Randy

Hi Randy,
i got the info from my kid! go to photobucket.com and sign up. upload your pictures to it. once they are uploaded, look for a URL (web address). copy the web address (right click and hit copy), go to this forum, on quick reply, hit "go advanced". click the icon to the right of the bullets. right click again and hit paste. click ok, and then post your reply.
hope it helps

There's an easier way to post from Photobucket. Find the picture you want, go to the 3rd box below where it says "IMG Code", right click on that area, hit copy, come back to this page and click to activate this page, right click again and hit "Paste" I do this in the "Quick Reply" area. Here's one...
