Plastic factories use them for the plastic pellets.

I buy mine from local "Corrugated Box Company's"they call them "fiber drums" Check the phone book in your area , Look and see if there are any "Surplus"(used) box company's ,they are the cheapest.
I pay about $5 each here in Indiana.

See if you can locate companies that makes canvas boat covers. The clear plastic windows come in cardboard barrels. My wife's job does that, they give them away to whoever wants them and discards the rest. Judging size I think about 20 or 25 gal size perhaps a little larger.

Using them for the form for a outdoor stucco cook oven. You cover barrel with chicken wire and then stucco and when you burn the oven the first time the barrel burns away. See the following link:

Very cool! I've thought about building an outdoor pizza oven like that. I really like the method of building it.

You could make a wood form similar to the cardboard barrel, and it would also burn away.

FIND YOUR LOCAL Amaar door dealer -- they are shipped in the trucks -- no top or bottom, but perfect size for forms! When the trucks are mt, they get thrown away. I grabbed some last load for mine!

Another option available to you is the use of a concrete column mold, they come in many sizes and are made of layers of paper also.

Our local 'twinkie' factory has them.

I pick them up for free.

They were used to carry pineapple filling.
