Hello to all (kinda long)

I've been posting occasionally under my husband's screen name, jrscuba, but decided to create my own. We never really did an intro, so here goes:

Our names are Jeff and Judith. We are currently sitting in our packed house in Florida waiting for the movers to load up tomorrow. We're heading to Springfield. Once there, we'll be renting for a few months while we decide where to buy...somewhere in the bottom left quarter of Missouri . Enjoyed the recent southern Missouri thread very much. We went out to visit last year and got hooked.

We are pretty excited, but nervous too. Lots of hard work ahead, but I hope also lots to learn and have fun with. We've learned so much here already and thank you all.

Both grew up in the Midwest, so the weather, bugs and stuff won't be too new to us. And at least the roaches won't have wings like they do here.

Let's see what else about us, ummm...no kids at home, I'm around 40 yrs, Jeff's around 50. Have lived lots of places. We like to garden, both cook, I do canning. Jeff can do about anything to fix a house (I follow instructions well and my skills are getting a little better). Our friends are all in mourning because the "handy" guy of the bunch is leaving town.

Please wish us the best while we're on the road. Computers will be shut down later today, so if I don't respond after that, please don't be offended. Should be back up in a couple of weeks, once we get unpacked.

If you don't need much of a job to survive, I would check out the Ava/Gainesville area, Mansfield or Houston/Licking. The prices are very good there and they are predominately agricultural (lots of farms). If I didn't need a fair to middlin job and my mom wasn't settled in near where I live now, that is where I would move to.

Best of luck and welcome!

Thanks for your replies!

Ceresone, that does sound interesting...if you want, PM me but I won't be able to pick it up for a little while. We are shutting down computers now, so everyone take care and we should be back online in a week or so.
