What kind of animal?

Give me best guess of what kind of animal would tear into bags of pelleted lime, potting soil, organic fertilizer? I could sort of see the organic being torn into as it probably has blood meal in it but potting soil, lime? There are dime-sized holes from claws? and big rips and tears and that plastic is HARD to rip open! Sort of scary.

If there are dime sized claw holes, it aint no 'dillo or coon. My first guess woudl be a bear.

Do you have any Tasmanian Devils around there? Aren't they the ones who go through the forest sounding like a buzz saw, clearcutting every tree in site?

My cats (and dog if it can get to it) will explore any sack left out on the odd chance it is a sack of food. They bore small test holes about a dime in size. Silly critters will often bore two or more holes in each bag I presume with the thought that "hey, that side didn't have anything to eat but maybe this side does"....

I don't have cats, only a Chihuahua dog. We have weasels, coons and foxes. I think a bear would tear the bag completely up. Just couldn't understand why a wild animal would waste it's time trying to open a bag of potting soil or lime. Maybe it was a curious coon.
