It was almost gone......The snow!!!!!

The snow had finally started to melt. Yesterday was the first time I could take the tractor in the field. The snow cover had gone down to 15" or so. By this morning it was like 8".

I'm basking in 70-80 degree days, looking at all the blooming trees and spring flowers, and recalling our one 2" snowfall this winter that melted in a day.

Sorry.

I have become convinced that you deserve to have the rest of this years snow. We have had some and currently we are able to drive our snowmobiles through the mini lakes, some over a foot deep, the mud, gravel, ice and finally snow on the six miles up to our house. If you agree to keep the snow and we take any warm rain that happens to be passing by it is possible that our road could open for wheeled vehicles by mid April which would be TOTALLY NEAT! So I am here in my office doing a snow dance directed to you! Sis

I am soo depressed. Yesterday I feed the flocks without a coat and today I trudged through sleet and snow flakes. When will it all end? I have 60 chicks coming on Tuesday. I sure hope they are not in the basement until June.

Yes, I know what you mean, mommagoose. Today it is 71, but tomorrow it will only be 55 here. BRRR! I will have to wear a jacket!

Can't help teasing...and just for full disclosure, I spent 23 years in Illinois, so I did my time! LOL...the last year there, on a Saturday in January we had 48 inches of snow on the ground and it was 45 below with a 90 below wind chill. There were two cars in the town of Dwight running (pop 5,000). And my TN-raised wife looked at me in the living room of the lil house we were cabin-fever stuck in and said, "We ain't staying here another year!"

LOL...the woman backs up what she says! By late spring, we were GONE to Virginia...then 8 years later, to here.
