Alright, nobody likes a braggart!

I put in an acre last year --15,000 crowns. It has been incredibly rainy this fall/winter and I won't know for another month if the crown survived the flooding.

I put in 100 rhubarb and I only count 100 that made it through.

How are you going to cook your harvest?

I've had about a half acre patch in the ground for about 10 years now. Every year I freeze about 30 gallons of it, and eat it most every day. Usually just steam it for a few minutes, but there are a lot of ways to cook asparagus.

I put n 100 roots 3 years ago this spring, and I am dancing from foot to foot to see *if* I can harvest any this year!

You see, I cannot take care of that much land so I planted it in an old cow pasture and crossed my fingers. It is possible that it will take in longer since I just threw out a little fertilizer and let it go.......

DANG, I want the ground to warm up!

Oh I am jealous, we still have snow on our patches. But the upside is we're renting the old house so I can harvest there again this year. It is a bummer having to start over growing the stuff (and the soil at the old place is a tad better than at the new though only 10 miles apart). We planted around 200 crowns over the years in addition to what was there. May not get to burn off the patches but the mature spears will prevail. I'm tasting it already and will be sure to freeze a bunch.
