Waxing Cans for long term storage.

Any one here ever wax their cans for long term storage?

yea, I read it some where

they lived in a humid place (I think)
did them in 2 coats (I think)
had fun doing (I clearly remember)

Wipe the cans with mineral oil. Its much easier.

I've never waxed cans, myself, but my great-grandmother used to seal the tops of canned items with wax. She had a dipper that gg-pa made to spoon up the wax and pour over the jars. Sounds like a pita.

My mother used to pour wax over the top of her jams and jellies.
