What do you grind your cayenne with?

So I have these beautifully dried cayennes now. What do you all use to grind yours to a fine powder?

Use a food processor OUTSIDE IN A BREEZE.

Sift the resulting product. You'll get powdered cayenne and crushed red pepper.

We use our coffee grinder and works excellent. I can't imagine anything that would do a better job.

Is it the same coffee grinder you use for your coffee? I thought about doing this, but wasn't sure about the after effects.

If I use a food processor outside, it will be a little while before I do it too much snow out there. LOL.

If you do it inside you're going to end up outside in the snow anyway...

I actually bought an extra coffee grinder for black pepper, etc.

You can pick them up at garage sales, thrift stores, etc.

I use a coffee mill to grind all kinds of stuff - flax, dried garlic, peppers, even coffee ...

I always used my blender

but you can clean a coffe grinder by grinding bread up afterwards.

Ya, no problem using the same one for both, the small amount of powder that's left over I simply wipe out. You would never know the difference.

blender works good cause the lid don't let the little powdered pieces of pepper fly all over the place. I grind dried jalapeno mostly and when I make homemade mocha coffee mix I put a little in the mix, its awesome. something about the jalapeno heat and the cocoa that is great together

We use a mortar and pedstle. If I were to do alot, I would use my grain mill, as it came with extra burrs for just that reason. I love the mortar though. It is great for mixing up rubs ad all.
