Just trying to see what the distribution looks like.

I have 35.... but if I could do it again, I would get more than that. Too close to neighbors still, and not enough wooded area. But I am still happy with it ... just gonna take more work and a bit more time for trees to grow.

Well if that counts then I need to change my vote. I only voted on what I am presently using, not just dreaming of using.

80 here.
Lack o' trees and surface water, though.
Can fix the tree thing given time.
Fixing the surface water thing might be a pain.

Yeah, I had trouble with that too. If growing trees counts as farming, I guess it should count. If it's what in cultivation, orchards, or pasture, the answer would certainly be less.

Five and a half for me which seems about right for what I'm trying to do. Any more and the upkeep would be too much. However, I border several thousand acres of public land where I 'play' so that helps.

I do believe the question was "how many acres do you own?" NOT how many do you use! I probably don't use but about 2 acres normally but answered the question as asked.

48, 40 of these are in pine trees, averaging about 30 feet tall. So, I only live on about 8 acres. I'm a registered tree farmer, even with this small amount, so raising trees counts as farming to me & the IRS.

4 acres which is our future homestead, 1.25 in town where our daughter lives while she's in college, and the little 1/2 acre here in south Louisiana where we live....for now. After we retire, we plan to sell our current home, sell the 1.25 acre in town, and build a home on the 4 acres which at our age then will probably be all we want to mow. But it will certainly be adequate for a nice size garden and a couple of chickens, and an old rooster to wake us up every morning. <sigh>

I have nine. Wanted twenty to forty, but with land prices in Florida being what they are we couldn't swing that much and a house too.

2.5, but it is well used. It looks like we have a lot more!
We have a field/pasture behind the house that doesn't belong to us but we are free to use and can even graze animals there, it can get wet with the river not too far away, so no building there!!!

We own about 122ac or so and are proud of them!! Some pasture but mostly timber with mature hardwoods like oak, poplar, maple, hickory and a few pines. We have a perennial spring branch and numerous springs, a 35' waterfall and several smaller waterfalls. It is a great place to live and work for. TnTnTn
