What uses for empty paint cans?

I want to be throwing away, burning, or burying less 'trash' that isn't biodegradable. After using several gallons of paint, I'm thinking surely there is a use for these. No, I'm not going to clean out the coating of paint that dried inside the cans, but something could be stored in them that isn't food or animal use stuff, righ? suggestions.

darn, yes. Why didn't I think of the concrete thing. There are many ideas about that. One could fill with concrete and put in long bent nail or piece of rebar before it sets for a boat anchor.
