Frugal shopping-- boots, work gloves etc Where?

The kids need new, warm muck boots, I need new muck boots. I need winter work gloves, a better shovel etc. Where is your fav place to get these things if you don't happen upon quality at the thrift store? Walmart? An online place? Any good leads?

most of the farm stores around here sell kids size pull on chore boots--best thing is they last and last--I was always able to pass down to the next kid; in fact granddaughter wears apr. when she comes to visit! I buy cotton jersey gloves by the dozen pack--gave up on leather as the minute I forgot and laid them down our setter would rip them off and eat them!!! DEE

We hit the military surplus and/or the resale shops. A lot of the resalers around here are going to be marking down their winter stuff soon, so you could find some good deals there.

Sportsmans Guide has a lot of military surplus items that are not very expensive.
