groundhog report

Phil Says Spring is Right Around the Corner!

Phil's official forecast as read 2/2/07 at 7:28 a.m. at Gobbler's Knob:

El Nino has caused high winds, heavy snow, ice and freezing temperatures in the west.
Here in the East with much mild winter weather we have been blessed.

Global warming has caused a great debate.
This mild winter makes it seem just great.

On this Groundhog Day we think of one thing.
Will we have winter or will we have spring?

On Gobbler's Knob I see no shadow today.
I predict that early spring is on the way.

Suns bright here today. Plenty of time to get an ample dose of winter.

Here in Wisconsin, Jimmy, a groundhog out of Sun Praire, saw his shadow and predicted 6 more weeks of winter. I wonder which way it'll be? It is zero degrees here right now, BRRRR!!!

We moved to Florida from just south of Johnstown PA. I sure did miss the punxsutawney Phil weather reports this year.

Straight from the groundhog.org faq page.

"Yes! Punxsutawney Phil is the only true weather forecasting groundhog. The others are just impostors.

How often is Phil's prediction correct? 100% of the time, of course!

How many "Phils" have there been over the years? There has only been one Punxsutawney Phil. He has been making predictions for over 120 years!"

It's rare that Phil dosen't see his shadow. I hope his weather prediction is right!

Usually I hope for Phil not to see his shadow but darn it, I was hoping he would this year. I just opened a new CD and the bank was offering and extra.10% if Phil saw his shadow. Well that's my luck.

appway, my mom was born near wiarton ont.( wiarton willy's home burrow)(as were her mom, grand and great!) the locals got too saying, when he predicted 6 more weeks, that they would have an early spring! other way spring would be late! hope your temps moderate, what you get today we tend to get 3 days later! ( and yep they are calling for -25 mon)
