contributers needed for new magazine

There was a post a while back about wanting an old style homestead magazine. Well I will have one online in 4 to 6 weeks, I have the name and software so now need one thing -- ARTICLES! Anyone intrested? Looking for how to and make do articles, pictures are welcome too. Also want pics for the front cover and other uses -- ie of homesteads, fields, animals etc! Also want to have a few columns on a regular basis if someone is willing to write one, ie food, advice, guns, hunt/fish, crafts etc. so far for the first issue articles on going overseas for cheap surgery, solar power, introduction to leatherwork, and a few more.
Magazine will be free and searchable thru issues. I want one like the old mother earh news ie something to teach and help and expand our knowledge of the earth and sustainable living.
Any and all help with articles will be welcomed!
Pm me! Thnx
ps heres a chance to promote what you do for free too!

I am getting ready to make floor tiles (among other things) using items that I will cast into resin. For example, I will take metal cans that have the labels as part of the can and not paper, cut them, and cast into clear resin with a colored background.

So far we have decided to use containers from food we eat and make the tile for the kitchen.

If you want to email me, I will tell you of a few things I will be doing around the home soon and can contribute.

Examples: Building a privy, making soap, gray water septic system from 55 gallon plastic drums, etc...

The idea being, I will be doing these things that I have never attempted before and keeping a journal and or photos.

Anyway, we can talk about it if you like. My email is Godblesstheusa@windstream.net

Thanks and good luck,
Robert Moore

Just a suggestion: Talk to Chuck about the possibility of having it hosted by Homesteading Today. Might be a replacement for the one honoring Carla Emery, which has pretty well run its course. You would insert it as each new issue was released.

I am so excited. Both to contribute and to read the magazine. I was just saying to my DH the other day that I cannot seem to find one single magazine that speaks to me. They seem to be less homesteading and Farm magazines. To me homesteading goes beyond the farming aspect.

So you're going to make us reveal our secret plan:

http://homesteadingtoday.blogspot.com/

Yeah - we wanted to get the mods in before we invited some of you most excellent "how-to" type posters to post "how-to" articles.

Drop me a PM if you want, we've got a format, formula and style already established.

Well, wasn't trying to compete - was trying to get all our ducks in a row before we opened it up to non-moderator contributors.

Bah feh - you forced my schedule a bit early that's all!

That said, the blog is going to focus on how-to articles that lead back into the forum here - so there's likely to be enough information space for both entities to thrive.

If you have a gmail account, PM me the email address and I'll send you the blogspot invite along with the preferred format for posts.

If you don't, I can send an invite along w/the format instructions.

Interested in helping! ............I Not an author/writer but do have 32 years experience living "OUT" . I could at least tell folks what NOT to do. I'm sure I've made every mistake possible but living VERY comfortably at 50+ years old maybe I can help someone. CS Mag not as interesting since JD bagged it, still good but going the wrong way I think............Will keep an eye on your posts, the more recources the better. Dave

This is great! Can't wait to read it, maybe I'll have something to contribute at some time or another, can't think of something specific at the moment.

For several years I wrote a small bit in a local paper, then just sort of got tired of it. I have since moved to NM. it is very nice here, but it is a desert where we live. Maybe 14" of percip per year, this I have to get used to and I will. We had a small garden last year at a rental house, it fed folks from church and a few neighbors. Since we closed on a place in the county a few weeks back, everyday is trying to get the place ready for us to move into. Yesterday we got chickens in, today we got 4 eggs and another 2 busted ones. Some men from Church stopped by to help tear down and rehang new siding on the trailer we will be living in today, we completed the back side.

I am a licensed elctrician and HVAC person who has given up the rat race for a more fulfilling lifestyle. I have read (Mother Earth) for years, but they seem to have gone commercial. I don't blame them, but it does leave me searching for a new type of mag.. I hope you do well! I would love to contribute if I can.
