Pantry Tour

It is always interesting to get a chance to walk through someone elses pantry.. I look at shelving, water storage, containers, and perhaps something I might have forgotten.. such as eye drops in a Bug Out Bag (BOB).

Here is a chance to walk through some else's pantry... 3 parts.

That's neat, thanks for these links. I really don't want people to know what I store though. I wonder if this family thought of this?

Pantry??

What Pantry?? Storage?? Why would you think I have food hoarded?
Or, anything else, for that matter?
All I have is in the cabinet, in the kitchen. Not much, at that.

I can't imagine anyone showing off their LTS, things.
My business is mine, thanks.
No offense............
Take care.

Thanks for that Westbrook, I thought it was pretty interesting, boy is she prepared for a three month in house or what?! We are no where near that prepared. We have camping supplies and about two weeks worth of food [after the frige and freezer are empty] if no one shows up to move in. We have a small stream, one house down, and a good water filter [$150. Katadyn] I'm counting on. I would like to get that one gallon hiking bottle she had.. I've only see one qt. ones here at the stores. This makes me think I need to get better prepared... though convincing the wife we need a couple hundred dollars of freeze dried food is harder than one would think.

I think it helps to talk to others -- maintaining an anonymous status of course -- to help gauge where I am in the big scheme of things. I appreciate the walk through and take it as nothing more then it is... an opportunity for self-evaluation.

Thanks for the links. It's always interesting to see how other people are preparing and what their ideas are about how much and what to store.

I do NOT have a big store- I just have a habit of stockpiling a month or two's worth that hasn't yet worn off from shopping only every 2/52 (2 wks) at a distant US comissary which was often unstocked of my regular items.

SO I was a bit concerned for the neighbors when their daughter (6, and not too well schooled in manners, and ?maybe a bit hyper) darting into our pantry while I sought out some after school snacks for them said "Why do you have all this food in your kitchen? You must be rich!" She IS always hungry when she comes over but she is growing well re size and weight. She is also a better eater than my DD6- the neighbor girl will eat an apple as a snack!
