need suggestions for doing research

When my husband retires, we would like to move, but are uncertain as to where.

How would one go about researching a new location?

The only we know for certain is that we would like to be in a warmer climate, and be near equine events. Other than that, how would you research things like, tax base, crime rate, typical weather, quality of hospital/health care, trails available for horse back riding, etc, etc..........?

Thank You

Start with the local Convention & Visitors' Bureau, then move on to things like assessor's office, city hall, etc. There are probably lots of places you can find out about things like employment, mean/median income, crime, demographics, etc.

You can look up a zip code and get a lot of information on a community. Here's a link to it: http://p01.bestplaces.net/zipr/zipentry.asp?zip=

Checkout Shelbyville TN, they have walking horses and events in that part of TN.

Hmmm. If you would update your profile to let people know where you are now then they might be able to help you better.

Btw, I use www.google.com, www.landandfarm.com and www.city-data.com for my research. Good luck!

I would imagine that AARP has a plethora of information like that plus a lot of other things that you may not have considered...
