23 Degrees and freezing rain.
Winter has been "back" for a week or two now. Now it's just adding insult to injury. I've always thought that freezing rain was "fine" when it stuck between the reasonable temps of 30 - 36 degrees or so... but this 23 degree freezing rain is just a pain.

Yep - your right. It is painful when you are out in it, even when it is in the high 20's to low 30's. I'll take snow any day over that stuff. We have had freezing rain and sleet for most of the morning here on my mountain and now it is just rain.... I'm in the mid-30's with a windchill in the low 20's according to the weather station on the garage roof... uck.... and I still have evening chores to do....

We got 4" or so of snow before the freezing rain started. 27 to 31 degrees, 150 miles South of you in Vinton County.

Cleared the drive with the TN 65..........................and now warming my feet buy the woodstove......................................... ............................

Welcome to WINTER! Here in Colorado we are buried again...if we can get someone, tomorrow will be the 5th time we've had to be dug out since before xmas...my "sick" days may vanish this winter. We have managed to dig a path for our elderly dogs to get inside tonight.

........................We are very blessed here in north central texas today as we had a high of 58 f and SUN all day and virtually no wind . My water line was froze for three days but it finally warmed up . I've got my new generator all gassed up and covered under the trailer so if we do have a real power outage I'll beable to run the tv and furnace . We were very lucky in my part of the state as we had no significant ice damage but north of us on the tex<>Ok line it was a different story . Good luck and God Bless to all who are W\O power as nothing is going to get fixed very quickly from what they are saying on the TV . fordy...

Yo Fordy!
I know you ain't no dummy, but if your trailer is tightly underpinned and you run a generator under the floor, you have a good possibility of killing yourself and your family with carbon dioxide.
Be sure the generator is ventilated outside. Sitting it outside would be better.

............Actually , the generator is sitting under the overhang of the neck on the 5th.wheel . It has plenty of open air access to vent the exhaust . I've got it locked too one of those heavy cables from HD and locked to the trailer . I've also got my combination CO2\Beanfart detector from China Mart mounted close to the generator so I'm very well protected . fordy...
