Animal Swaps & Auctions In. oh. ky.

I live in southeastern Indiana and used to go years ago go to all of the animal swaps and auction's but now I am kinda out of the loop . I would like to start going again but with all the new laws and regulations they do not put there sites on the internet any more . I do know of a few but would like to go to the others also.
Used to go to one in Greenville ohio . Would like to know when it will be again used to be twice a year.
Any help with locations Indiana , Ohio , Kentucky

Hi Jack. The largest one I know of is at Wolf Lake which is about 20 miles south of Michigan in the eastern part of the state. I don't know the dates however.

They have them at Portland Ind also. Thats up by the Limberlost near Berne.

The grandaddy of all country auctions it up at Topeka Ind. One of the larger Amish groups in the US of Hay. They have A draft horse and machinery sale with over 1000 head of work horses, and about 5 acres of antique farm tools. 4 day sale. This spring is March 20 21 22 23. Fall sale is Oct 30 31 Nov 1 2.
They also have 3 carriage auctions each year. Over 300 buggys, carriages, sleighs, covered wagons, hitch wagons, hearses, and new harness, used harness, saddles, more antiques that are horse and farm related than you can have time to look at.
includes about 100 head of driving horses on the final day.
The dates for these sales are -- April 12 & 13.
June 14 & 15. Sept 27 & 28.

DO NOT go to strawtown for animals! That place is dirty! Back before I knew any better, I have bought rabbits and poultry from there. Only one rabbit ever did not bring home sickness and death, or parasites. I had to get rid of all my chickens once, because of chickens I got from there that ended up being sick and infecting my whole flock. They also auction alot of exotics there (pets). who knows what they carry. yes, they run year round.

However! they do have a stuff auction, and a large flea market that are both good. just please dont buy animals from there.

There is a horse auction in Veedersburg, In either twice a month, or weekly. Ive driven past the auction barn 200 times with my job, but Ive never been. Ive heard there are alot of slaughter buyers there. I know nothing else. They usually advertise in the trader.

Jack, There is a Midwest Auctioneers Homepage on the net, and they discribe a consignment auction that takes place every first Wed of the month on highway 49 south of Greenville Oh. Sounds like mostly antique type stuff. They also have an auto auction on different days.
