more house pics :-) heavy!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ewhouse025.jpg
the front porch and ramp.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ewhouse029.jpg
the gas fireplace. the builder took the same tile from the bath and kitchen and built the mantle with it, adding book cases which are always in short supply around here. please forgive the mess... we're working on it. that's my middle girl melanie, and two of my grand daughters, harmony (9) and jasmin (7), in the pics. jasmin jumped in front of the camera every chance she got.
more coming...

a view of the kitchen and cabinets
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ewhouse035.jpg
i tried to get a good shot of the bamboo floors. not sure how good it came out. that's maggie, my constant companion.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ewhouse041.jpg
the screened porch- room for a cot for summer sleeping, plumbed for a sink and electric line... i can can outside!! outdoor space was more important to me than inside. we are fortunate that we can spend lots of time outside 9 months of the year. a nice cool breeze from the north is there most all the time. open the back and front doors and that same cool breeze goes through the whole house. it's also situated with the front facing a nice southern exposure with lots of deciduous trees.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ewhouse043.jpg
screened porch going out- no door yet...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ewhouse044.jpg
looking out from the back... the drain field is on the right... off in the distance is the barn. if you look real close you can see the goats and howard the pyr. behind the pines in the distance on the right is the dw i am in now. melanie is moving in this weekend as a renter. she's glad the well is heading her way too.
one last one...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ewhouse045.jpg
driveway out to the county road. as you can see it needs a lot of work. it used to be pasture, and is a long way from that now. maybe if you look real close you can see where we have started putting fence back up. i cannot wait to get the critters spread back out across the place again, instead of penned near the house.
hope i haven't worn y'all out. it's 966 sf heated space, with the porches making it a nice even 1200 sf. i can't hardly believe it yet....
welcome to my new home.

Love the porch, and the ramp would make it where my dad could get up and down easier... Very nice.

angie, the whole place in handicapped accessible- wide doorways, walk in shower, handi toilet... i don't need it now, but one never knows. i'm no spring chicken.
fyi- i'm still adding pics to the first post in case y'all want to go back and look again. uploading, posting and trying to read all at once.

Thanks, and I'll be looking.
My dad has had both needs replaced and is making a good couch potato, so doesn't move so well anymore.

Marvella - keep posting photos like that and you may get more company than you expected. And I know where TN is... Love the back porch idea and execution.

um i dunno are they? i thought they'd be on the outside so it's a mystery to me.
angie, one of these days we really should have a southeast get together... there's been talk in the past but it never came together. i can provide primitive camping space, with amenities in the house.:-)

I didn't even notice due to staring at the scenery and had to go back and check. I agree, it's the opposite of what I've always seen/done but there's nothing wrong with being original!
P.S. They're typical on the front deck/ramp but opposite on the back deck/screen porch.

The baluster location, inside/outside, must be a mason dixon thing. On this side of the line they are all on the outside.

Very nice, thank you for sharing with everyone. Happy times for you I bet.
I have been in construction for a very long time ( NJ, PA, NY ) and I have only seen the balusters done the way you have. I guess it could go either way.
The outlets in your kitchen .... I hope they are ground fault protected next to the sink.
Enjoy and keep us updated. Looks great!!

What a beautiful house and setting! You must be very exited! I really like the porches also. Did you use a particular house plan?
