Looking to raise some guineas

I would like to raise some guinea chicks or incubate some eggs. I live in upstate NY (Groton) and am wondering if anyone in my area might have some this spring they could sell me. I do not want to buy from a hatchery because they require you to buy 25 or more and I only want ten.

Do you have a local feed barn? Lots of times places that sell chicks in the spring will have guineas also. They are so much fun!!!

I had 28 at one time----They made so much noise I had to cut them down to 6---now only 3--Hawks love Guinea's. If you don't find any--I might could collect and send you a dozen eggs when they start laying. Randy

Yep, Hawks and Owls love guineas. My free range (well isn't that why everyone gets them ) and I started with 30 in July and now I'm down to 13. To be fair, I lost about 10 or so to being shipped at a day old. If you're keeping them penned, a handful will be OK, but if they free range, you'll lose them to the predators a little at a time so getting 25 isn't unreasonable.
