How much is a gravity wagon worth?

I am moving out of state and need to sell mine.

It's an Unverferth-McCurdy on a running gear. Everything's OK ... the crank works, no holes, tires are good, etc. My ex welded hooks around the side, which makes it real easy to lash a tarp down over the top.

I am thinking of asking $1,000 for it, do you think that's too high?

I've seen them go as low as $100 at auction. Tough time of the year to sell them too. What is the capacity?

Tough to say without size and a better idea of condition. I paid $1000 for mine and it was a good deal, but sold 2 others for $400 each. If it's got a 12 ton runnign gear $1000 is cheap, if its a 5 ton gear it's expensive. Mine was a 10 ton with good 6 bolt rims and good implement tires, the box would describe similar to yours with good paint. Pretty sure mine is 450 bushel capacity.

I am not sure of the capacity, although I found a website that will calculate capacity if you plug in measurements ... I'll have to measure it tomorrow.

I checked and it's an U-M model 230, on a Gehl running gear. I think I remember the ex saying it was a 10-ton running gear?

Anyway, thanks to all who replied ...

I do have a guy supposed to be driving by to take a look at it sometime this week ...

The scrap going to China is going to cost us more than we want to pay. I was raised on a farm but do not know what a "gravity wagon" is,wc

They're in very high demand around here. You can hardly touch one in any useable condition for under $900-$1000.

I've seen them go recently for $2500 here. I guess it all depends on the time and place.

A gravity wagon is used for transporting grain.

Thanks, thought maybe it was for hauling gravity?
(Looked it up on eBay, but thanks anyway)
Had one for $450 (no bids) or something like that.
