Will Water Make You Aggressive
Me and my DW lived in a small town of 350 people. The water was nasty.
One thing we noticed was most the people that lived there was slow in learning and very aggressive.
The only thing we could find in common with everyone was the water. Is it possible for water to make people behave this way?

I think it's more related to in-breeding.

The only way water makes me aggressive is if you get in the way of the bathroom.

If it was in the water it was the pollutants in the water and not the water it self, and not knowing what impurities in the water were, it is impossible to say, but I am sure there are chemicals that would do what you described. and even in low doses but continually given it could affect people behavior or mood depending what it may have been.

I dunno. I do know that if a lot of women get pregnant at once they say it must be something in the water.....
Maybe they are all mean from either being pregnant , or having to live with a pregnant woman???
In any case, maybe you don't wanna drink the water....

You know, I've wondered about that sort of thing... all those drugs and chemicals in our water can;t be helping, that's certain.
Of course, could have just been inbreeding, combined with poor parenting...

Besides all the other things mentioned, lead, mercury, cadmium, nitrates, pesticides, all of them can do terrible things to people, have you had YOUR water tested? There is a little town in the mountains of TN where there are tons of disabled children born, turns out just about everyone is on meth or crack, very sad...

On the up side, some spring water has lithium, which is given to bi polar people as a mood stabilizer.

Interesting question. Chances are they were not on a muncipal water supply, but rather individual wells. There might be something in the water, for example lead - which I believe is still mined in parts of MO - in the water. Lead might account for learning disabilities. On the aggressiveness, likely more of a cultural thing.
Another aspect might be diet, particularly for young children.
Added: I believe there is growing evidence even moderate drinking and smoking by a pregnant woman will also affect the fetus developement and the child's growth, both mentally and physically.
