Spring 2007 Buffalo River Homesteaders Campout is ON!!

The dates for the Spring Buffalo River campout is May 4th, 5th, and 6th of 2007. I haven't really nailed down a for sure site yet... I like the idea of going back to Buffalo Point, since that's where we had the very first one...but if I do that, I'm going to have to reserve a site soon. The sites book full rather quickly there. I like all the places that we've camped on the Buffalo... They all have their peculiar pluses..... Buffalo Point has nice showers close by. So does Tyler Bend. Steele creek has showers a few miles down[well, actually it's UP ] the road, that are charged for, but it isn't much. I think I paid 2 bucks for a nice long shower.....Rush doesn't have any facilities, but it is so close to the river, you can almost fall out of your tent, in to the river.... So, all ya'll that haven't been, but would like to, come on out! All the 'old hands', you too!!! We have tons of fun, lots of food, and learn some stuff too! If anyone has any homesteading skills that they would like to [attempt] to teach some of us....well, bring it on!!! I am not sure that I'll have such a nice list like Marlene does, but we'll see.......
So far, my list has Me, and my spoiled rotten-bear gettin-dog, Phoenix....
any one else???
Let's make this the bestest one yet!!!

The Fall Campout was at Steel Creek Campground near Jasper, AR.
It is beautiful place.
In the winter months the elk come down into the meadows to graze.

Sounds like fun and just a short drive from Eureka Springs.

Yessss! I just caught the tail-end of the last one in the Fall, but I enjoyed meeting those that were still there so much.
I look forward to seeing everyone and getting to spend more time there.
hugs to all,

Where: Group site 5 at Buffalo Point. I called today and made the reservation...so, we are back to the original site......
When: May 4th, 5th and 6th, 2007.
Those planning on attending are:
Me, and rotten dog, Phoenix
Marlene and Noah
Dennis and Don
Mamabear[hopefully]
RipVanArkie and crew[love the name!!]
If any one is left off, sorry, but I'm not as good at lists as Marlene is............at least with this one, I don't have to worry about it disappearing, cause I lay it down somewhere........and then forget where........... Any one that is planning/hoping to be there, just let me know...we are allowed up to 25 people per site....

For those too far to the east to be of practical interest keep in mind the Hardy's Homesteading Gathering over the Fourth of July designated weekend in SE Indiana. This year the 4th is on a Wednesday so it may be the weekend before or after.

If you want details (when available) send a SASE to The Hardys, Poor Folks Farm, 13738 N. Cty Road 100W, Gentryville, IN 47537.

Did a blacksmithing demonstration there in 04 & 05. May do another something this year.

what is baker creek doing having their spring thing so late?

how's everyone doing in this weather?
