Got our electric service today

Yow. We're now about $2,000 poorer. There was 280 feet of trench dug, PVD and cable installed, trench covered up and electrical pedestal/transformer set.

Next step is calling the electrician to hook the wires to the house.

Dang, this stuff is expensive.

We bought a (very nice) used trailer and put it on the land. It's going to be the homestead someday *sigh*. I'm anxious to move out into the country.

Yes, I know some places are outrageous. I knew some folks in Colorado where they wanted $10,000 to bring the electric in 1/4 of a mile. Lots of people in the San Luis Valley (Colorado), cannot afford to bring electricity in even though it is available at the end of the street and you can SEE THE POLE from their property.

Bringing the pole to our property only cost $181 for 600 feet. We are grateful for that, for sure.
