Emoticon question for Mods

Hey Mods - do you folks track which emoticons are the most popular?

Just curious which one is most used...

Also,
we need musical notes to encase quotes that are lyrics...
And we need a tree hugger...

Request line

I didn't know that we were allowed to make requests on a request line.

How about a STOP button so that I can stop the blasted annoying animation of gif emoticons. Doesn't the animation eat up bandwidth?

Best place for this is the admin forum down at the bottom of the main page.

Gif Animations do not use any bandwidth in order too animate. The image may be slightly larger to download but once you see it the first time, it is on your computer and does not have to download again. Even if it is on a different page.

So, no worrys Windy!

The motion of emoticons can be stopped by going to 'tools', 'internet options', 'advanced' then down to 'multimedia', remove the check mark in the 'display emoticons' area. You will still see them but they are learning to behave there. And be still.

Correction, the 'display animations in the web pages' is the place to make the changes.

Emoticons

moopups, thanks for the attempt to help me, but after checking I find no such settings. Perhaps because I'm still using Windows 98 with Firefox v.2.

On a little different note I do keep java and java script turned off most of the time. Leaving it off really helps speed page loading and quite often gets rid of advertisements.
