Ooooooh Nooooooooooo Angie, we can't take credit for any of that! We drove up today and back so we could see the progress of construction. We're having someone build it for us.

Oz here.

Angie, if we built it the walls would have fallen down and the slab woud be crooked...LOL

It IS a wonderful feeling to know we are moving forward.

Great news Oz. As soon as the barn is finished, fill it up with YOUR stuff before the Mrs. beats you to it.

I really like your approach of an barn apartment, then building a house later. Apartment will still be there as quest quarters or such.

That was the plan so as to have a place for people to stay when they come to visit...

We are also aware that WE might be living in the apartment for a few years so we wanted it comfortable enough for that.

Almost everything we are planning on doing up there is geared towards what we want AND what will boost the properties value.

Looks great. I know ya'll are really excited. The most thrilling of all to me in the building process is the walls. Enjoy the process and keep up the pics.

Thanks all.

We are VERY happy although a little tired from the long drive....

By next weekend we should have the roof trusses up and some more sheathing on.

Also the two sheds should be started soon.

Oz, excellent view. I can feel the excitment bubbling from here. Gorgeous view.

Did it feel "colder" to you coming from SC?

Funny thing was we weren't even looking for a view..and we have mountain views on two sides. We ARE quite excited by it all, everything is running pretty smoothly although there was a little confusion on the roof system but it all worked out.

Well we have a little joke when we near the NC stateline....

We both sniff and say 'Do you smell that? It's NORTH CACKELACKY!!!''

We are both a bit dorky.
