For Those Who helped me last year....

You know who you are.

Life is better this Christmas.

I figured I ought to do some "pay backs". I know I don't have too, but I could give a bit, so I did.

I don't know of anyone who is down and out. I don't give to charities. I started thinking about who I should help, but then I start thinking too hard about whether or not the recepient would be "deserving" and that's not very giving, so....

I got some cash and wrote a message on some $10 and $20 bills. I said "Merry Christmas! This is my way of paying back help I've received. Pass it on!"

Then I stashed them here and there. I put bills in books at the book store, bills in jacket pockets at the Goodwill Store. I stuck one in the newspaper machine after I got a paper.

I figure this way, fate, karma, destiny, chance, providence? are the ones choosing who receives, instead of me. I don't have to confront anyone and put them in a position of accepting cash from a stranger and they get to "find" money...with no nagging guilt about who dropped it.

I also had a blast doing this. I did not stick around to see if the bills were taken, I just planted them and left, but I couldn't stop grinning. It was so much fun to sneak those bills in there without being seen by other shoppers. I am still smiling

I think I will do this every year. It was great and I can't wait to go back and make sure that the bills are gone. If not, I'll move them after a few days.

Again, thanks to those who touched my heart last year. It really did make a difference!

Jena

Jena, that's a great idea. I think I'm going to do a little 'secret giving'; I've been blessed with generosity from stangers & friends in the past-it's time to pass it on.

Hi Jena; Your idea sounds great. It would really make a fun video to catch their face when they find the windfall.
Glad to hear things are looking up for you.

Merry Christmas. Unk

Glad to hear that things are going well for you. With an attitude like yours it's easy to see why people helped you last year. I like your way of thinking on this and although mine will be limited to a couple of $10 bills I'm going to do the same.

Sounds like fun.

Your gifts were generous. That sounds like great fun, seeing someone get their surprise would be the icing on the cake.

Santa was quite kind to me last year and this year I am in better circumstances. Perhaps I'll play too.

That sounds like a great idea, I thought of a good way I was going to pass on a blessing to someone from HT as I am going to recieve a blessing from someone and they asked that I not pay them for it. I will not write about it better to keep it secrete.

We need more folks like Jena!

What we are doing this year is having a Phys Ed teacher at a local high school buy two pairs of shoes for needy girls. This school has a lot of very low if no income parents. This will be done secretly and only the teacher will know where the money comes from. Shoes were a luxury when I was growing up. Dad resoled our shoes (sisters were mortified) and we hopefully got a new pair for Easter.
