SSS? probably.

this case here is a yr old they are still looking for who killed this guy...

hunting...
not on his own land...
on a quad...

the reports said he found "steel wire strung neck high across the quad trail he rode on"

I cant confirm he was trespassing... but from all the online new I could dig up, he wasnt on his own land. permission? I dunno.

but... with the wire across the quad trail and then him ending up dead I would assume, he was trespassing, or someone thought he was.

watch the video.... any locals actually know any more ddetails?

my theory [worthless of course] is.... someone had the impression he was trespassing, set wire triplines on the trails and figured they would send a violent message about property lines.

they are still looking for the killer a yr later now, so it is pretty clear, dead men indeed tell no tales, or they would have found the shooter by now.

someone in the area is being pretty tight lipped.... maybe a whole bunch of people.

i'm with the dad on this one.... I hope they cant sleep at night either.

The links took me to a shooting incident? No mention of 4 wheeler or wire.

More than likely this was a case where rival "hunters" didn't want other people hunting "their" area.

Yes, it was in the news footage video.
He was shot in his portable tree stand.

Too many unanswered questions. The news report didn't say anything about the landowners... whether it was his land, someone else's, a WMA, a private hunt club, or whatever. The landowner would be the first one questioned, and they didn't even mention it.

Not that ownership has any bearing on him being murdered, but it just leaves too many scenarios open to speculation.

His mom said he thought someone was out to get him (because he found the wire). So, why wasn't he more cautious? It probably would have killed him if the wire would have clotheslined him, too.

Weird.

May have nothing to do with tresspassing or hunting. Since the son had reported the wire, and he was on someone elses property, and he was hunting, this would be a perfect opportunity for a hunting "accident", or to make the assumption that unknown other hunters took him out.

They said head hi CABLE not wire
Big diference
Although I dont have a bit of trouble withsome one streaching a wire anywhere on their own property
Sure wish it had said somthing about his status on the land although that no hunting sign they show in the vidio might be a BIG hint.

That's what I was thinking. But why did they show the sign, then give no more info on land ownership? I still say... weird.

As far as cable vs. wire... it might make a big difference as to the purpose of it being there, but if you're travelling along pretty fast on your 4-wheeler and it clotheslines you, not much difference in the results!

a cable would be far easyer to spot so the chances of it being a trap are less and the chances of spotting it from a moving 4 wheeler are better
Can you call a cable a trap? after all on a 4 wheeler there are tons of other things that aparent size that could knock you off or spear you?

Cable snares are no thicker than #9 wire. And a lot stronger. And cuts better.

its a local language thing... cable... wire... same difference.

I call 1/8 steel line "cable" or 'wire"....

note, he was shot with buckshot. all 9 shot hit him, mostly iin the chest.

so it was a close shot.
