We are looking for a new barn builder....

Sigh....

The guy we have currently ALWAYS has 'something' come up pushing back our barn...

Last I spoke with him it was 30 days out and then he 'might' be able to start. There was ALWAYS something happening....now don't get me wrong his work that we saw was nice and all but the delays were getting ridiculous.

So I got out the trusty yellow pages and called a company.
Left a message and within the hour had a call back saying he was interested in building our barn and could we fax over plans of exactly what we want.

So any ideas what this barn would cost?

30'x36' full loft barn.
12' sheds off both sides
18' sidewall height.
23' height at the peak.
wood siding.
poured concrete foundation.
small deck off front.
one man size door on side and large sliding doors on front.
Metal roof.

Thanks.

I think $30K would be VERY conservative for what you are looking at.

If there are Amish/Mennonites in your area check with them as barn building is often one of their enterprises.

I would estimate materials close to 30k...labor will come close to doubling that price. 50-50k is my opinion. What price had the other contractor agreed on?

Think about Hardi Plank

Take a look at Hardi Plank. It is a cement based siding. I have it on my shop and I'm real pleased. Resists pests and fire. Looks just like wood.
