Fun games for camping

We are looking for ideas for indoor games when camping. Like dice and card games.Board games can be bought but mainly looking for other ideas.Thanks

Why would you want to be playing indoor games while you're camping? The whole idea of camping is to be outdoors.

Getting a different camper and plan on going this winter too,Also seem like when we go camping it ends up raining

How about getting A book on trees and then quizing folks(the kids) on them also works with birds and animal tracks. There are flash cards on A lot of differnt things that can be bought at Teachers suppy stores.

You need to have a backup plan for rainy days! That's why.

We mostly play Uno and Yahtzee. The kids have also enjoyed a new game called Ziggity - has waterproof plastic cards, which is a plus when you're camping and everything gets soggy!

"Here, take this", a dumb game we played when we were teenagers. You'd pick up any object and use any word to describe it except the name of the object itself, then say to the person next to you 'here, take this' and hand it to them. They then have to repeat your word and then add their own, and then say 'here take this' and hand it to the person next to them who has to say your word, the next person's word, and add their own word, and then say 'here take this' and etc etc etc. The first person to forget a word or forget to say 'here take this' is out. Dumb, I know, but I guess we were easily amused....

What about books or magazines that are about the areas you plan to visit? If you're stuck inside, then you can study about the area you're planning to see, do some research so to speak.

Well of course we have! We end up playing the same games that we would of it we were at home when it was raining. We do not have a special “camping” set of games versus a special “at home” set of games. Our favorite game for both places is a card game called “Phase 10” and a dice game called “Farkel.”

Growing up we always kept a game called hexominoes with the camping stuff - hexagonal shaped dominoes - they were plastic, bright orange so you could always find the pieces, simple enough that it didn't matter if you lost the instructions, came in a really small box and best of all you only got to play them when you went camping! That and a deck of cards got us through many a wet, cold camping trip.

Double Nine dominoes turned out to be a game we always reserved for camping. Just became tradition with us for some reason. Ladder golf and horseshoes for outside.
