Alabama Homesteaders Campout?
OK, I have to admit, reading about the Buckeye gathering has made me jealous, jealous, jealous!
How about us Alabamians and close neighbors getting together??
On the 28th, I'm planning a "Thank Goodness Summer Is Over" Harvest/Halloween party of sorts. My DS and his family will be here on their yearly vacation and I'm planning a day filled with food, fun & games for the kids and a campout that evening.
Anyone interested in making the event also a homesteaders "Thank Goodness Summer Is Over" fun filled cookout/campout??
I live in the Alexander City area (Equality) which is about 2 hours west of Atlanta, 1 hr (or so)south of Birmingham, 45 minutes north of Montgomery
I have room for tents, trailers, RVs..
What do ya'll think?? Anyone think they might be interested???

Debbie

I would love to come but we have an annual camping trip with several other families the last weekend of October every year, so already have plans. It does sound like fun.

Sorry Halfpint and Jenn that you won't be able to make it
Paul, a blackpowder demo would be great and outdoor cooking sounds good too!
I hope more people can come...
If we don't get more HT people, I'm thinking of inviting some of my coworkers. They're wonderful people and most are "country" folk. What-cha think? Is there anyone that you'd like to invite?

What are the dates? I would love to come! May I bring the 2 danes or would this be humans only? I would have to only come for the day but it's doable.

NorthernMich, no, this is not the place to post this ad...
You might want to post it in the Barter Board.

I was hoping you would come!!!!!
Saturday 28th starting around 2pm till whenever ya'll decide to leave
As for the danes... It would really depend on how they are with donkeys(2), potbellied pigs(2), and my beloved chickens, cause they all freerange.
I've only had the donkeys for a few months and they tolerate my border collie, but he knows to run like crazy for the porch when they decide to chase him

I could come for a few hours! The Pine Mt Trail Association has its annual bar-b-gue scheduled for the 28th but it is in the evening. If not for that I would spend the night. So, do I need to bring anything??

Hey Sherry!
Just for few hours will be great. That's what almost everyone, except Paul is doing.
But what we need to do is figure out what time so everyone is here at the same time.
If everyone would list the their approx. time we can start planning what to do ( games or if we want to do any sorts of demo etc...) and what ya'll will need to bring.
