A buck saw is supposed to be hung on the wall with the other pioneer tools. A buzz saw is great if you have a few people helping you, but if the same few people had brought along their chain saws, all you would need to do is give them a sip of cider once in a while, and a years worth of wood would only take about a gallon.

as uncle will siad, and bill agrees with

Buzz saws is great, have u got one. there gettin harder to find with a good blade attached. Can u sharpen it or do u know sombody that will sharpen and swedge a blade that dia? Can u pick up the pole wood yourself if u cant get any help? I do all my cutting with a chainsaw, ax and buzz saw. Ill lay a long piece 1/2 way across the buzz saw and cut it, then finish cutting the piece to my left, and then drag back the piece to my right and cut it. Nobody has helped me cut wood in 15 and more years. Ill be 59 the 8th

Neighbor has one For Sale and there is no problem getting it sharpened.

We've been using a Sawbuck pile the wood on it and just run Chainsaw cutting through the whole pile.

Buzz saw on the tractor is about the most dangerous thing I've ever run. Kinda just don't put it on anymore, haven't for years.

Chainsaw is right up there too on the danger scale, but seems better than the buzz saw.

Mind you, I have a screw-type pto wood splitter & feel just fine using that. And folks keep telling how dangerous that item is......

So it's all in perspective.

Buzz saw is probably quicker, the chain saw allows me to stop & rest more or keep going, however I feel.

I like working mostly alone, hard to do a buzz saw alone, easy to do so with chainsaw.

Well dern, you just plain confused me I guess.

If I can get some help I preferr a buzz saw on a tractor. A group of 5 or 6 people can cut an awfull lot of wood in a few hours. Our pulp cords are 100 inch logs piled 4 feet high and 4 feet long. We buy 20 pulp cord at a time. we cut up 20 pulp cord in 8 hours one time.

If im by myself I preferr a chainsaw

Burn 11 cord of wood a year, always used a chainsaw, and have never had a problem, I couldn't manage a buzz saw. Always wanted one though.
