Some pics of our lot up north

You all have posted so many beautiful pictures of your land. I thought I would share a few of ours. We haven't built on this place, and dh wants to sell it. But for now, we're holding onto it until we find the piece we really want.

It isn't nearly as exciting as what others here have, but I like it. It's about 7 acres. In that last shot, the back tree line is ours too. It goes back through there another 200 feet and then the property line ends. All the photos are taken on the eastern edge of the prop looking northwest.

This is too far north for dh. He would like to trade it for a smaller lakefront somewhere. Personally, I think it would be nice to set up a little homestead out behind that pond facing southwest. This is one lot away from public use, county forest preserve land. So, hunting is good. But we aren't into that, so, it sits untouched for now.

Up north is near Duluth-Superior.

That little clearing is the only open area on the lot. The rest is wooded. It is zoned for recreational or residential. Technically we couldn't have livestock of any kind there, but the gal at the county said if we wanted a few chickens, nobody would ever complain about it.

It's about 1/4 mile from a 2000 acre lake. So, easy access to some great fishing.

I'd love to dredge that little frog pond and stock it with fish, though. Maybe put in a gravel pad and park a camper up there in the summertime.

That's where my head is at. It's so close to a big lake already, well actually, many lakes. You have your pick of lakes up there. I think he just wants to be on the water.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. Looks like a beautiful place. What WIHH said about living on the lake verses a more secluded lot. Maybe the lakes up North aren't as full as of the noisy cigarette boats and ski doos as the ones we have in the South...but I bet they are.

Every public lake has that, and many of the private ones too, only to a lesser degree.
