Gevalia coffee

Anyone buy the deal and get the coffee maker with the coffee? Was it a good deal? We need a new coffee maker and definetly would enjoy some of their coffee, enough to fulfill the deal at least.

I have purchased their coffee. Truthfully, I am not a coffee connoisseur and their coffee tastes the same to me as the store brand that I pick up at the grocery store. So for me, it is not cost effective to get their products on a regular basis.

I do order from them from time to time. I like their teas.

be sure to click the option up at the top of the "join" page that says

as there are many, many, many choices for joining gifts depending on what you want. I got a canister set, spoon and free coffee machine when I signed up. So far, I have spent about $60 on coffee with them so I figure we are even. It is my understanding that, UNLIKE AOL, they don't give you any grief at all when you decide to cancel.

It's worth a try, IMHO.

I took them up on that deal 1996 or 97, the coffee pot wasn't anything to really brag about. I don't remeber if they offered whole beans or not, I do remember that the coffee was ground a little too fine for an auto drip, it would overflow over the filter. I also drank way more coffee than they could keep up with at the time. I bagged on the deal after I met my obligation and went back to buying whole beans from the store. So to make a short story long, just go buy a new coffee pot, and some coffee you like.

Coffee makers are pretty durned expensive. Our deal was something like $15 with nothing to buy further. We just did the basic, never bought more. Coffee was not worth the expense but the $15 for the coffee maker was worth it I thought.

I bought the pot for $15.00 too....it was a good deal. But I needed a part after 2 years, and of course there was no warranty at that time AND you can't get parts for the darned thing. Ended up getting a $2 part for one similar and made it work. I like the new Cuisinart pot with the stainless steel carafe. That will be my next one.

I went for the deal about a year ago but little did I realize that all their coffee is $20 pound! Ain't no coffee worth that. Cancelling was an easy phone call.

I got the shiny silver pot/maker this spring, works fine. Well osmetimes the little ball that tells you how much water is in it doesn't work, but that started after I turned it upside down to clean it.
The coffee SUCKS unless you get the dark stuff. YUK so bad I had to send it back. And I will drink swill. But I am really picky about flavored coffee.
I think when it breaks I will just order again.

We used to get regular shipments from them. We didn't drink it every day, just kept some on hand for special occasions, or when we had visitors. They have some exceptional coffees, but they are expensive. We recently stopped, as we had to trim expenses due to gas prices, etc.

My sons got one when they were in college about six years ago. The younger son is still using it.

They cancelled the coffee subscription after a while, but they liked it OK.

mrs oz here

My boss got the deal w/ the silver pot and she gets the automatic deliveries of the coffee. She keeps half and the business gets half. I think it's pretty awful. Like the poster above stated, so finely ground that it can overflow an autodrip coffeemaker........that is if you put enough coffee in the basket to make it taste more like coffee instead of hot brown water. Clearly, I'm not a fan. Therefore, I bring a traveler from home every morning.

Some one at work has the coffee maker and gets the coffee. They brag about the flavour, and I think it isn't any thing special. I prefer the stuff at the local coffee shop that imports their own beans and custom roasts them. But I am fussy about my coffee.

We got the coffee maker and a pound or two of coffee. I really like the breakfast one for the morning, but I like to drink the good stuff (Greek/Turkish/Italian) later in the day. Frappee's are the best!!

My coffee is much better than Gevalia and cheaper, too. (I roast my own.) We got one of the gevalia coffee makers, though, and it's a decent machine. we bought a re-usable filter so we wouldn't have to buy theirs.

We just did the Gevalia thing - but I got the beans, not the already ground coffee. I like it fine. However, I like another brand even better, can't remember the name, it's sold from Fredericksburg Texas.

coffee

Roasting your own coffee is the only way to go. Well worth the trouble. I can drive by Starbucks and not feel like I am missing a thing. They have nothing over me now!

I get their coffee's. I ordered it to get the coffee maker for my Mom because hers broke and she liked the look of this one, she likes the coffee maker.

We get the whole beans. I think I buy the Peruvian Organic and Mocca Java. I like both but I'm thinking of trying something different on the next order. It IS more expensive than store coffee by far, but I consider it a treat to get that box in the mail.

Plus you can adjust how frequently you get shipments ~ I'm at every 9 weeks.

Hope that helps.

I got their deal years ago and the coffee maker was cheesy - yes it worked, but i found it didn't really keep the coffee hot.

Coffee not worth the price weather beans or ground.

We did that deal twice and burned up the coffeemaker in less than a year each time. Then my SIL got another coffeemaker from them and it conked out in less than a year. Went to Walmart and got a good one for less the $20. We buy store brand coffee for $2 a can and love it.

For less then what you would pay for a pound of their coffee you can get a better coffee maker then their offer. If you're looking for something new in coffee before you purchase a whole pound (or more like 10 oz.) of something you might not like, find a store which offers the little single pot bags, that way you aren't out much if the sample is not to your liking.

You'll see their coffee pots in thrift stores a lot - sometimes still in the box. Infact you see lots of automatic coffee makers in thrift stores ... I don't think many people take the time to brew a pot of vinegar water once a month to keep them in top working order

Happy brewing...
